Cause and effect essay
“Why so stressed?”
Truth be told, we all get stressed, even over the most smallest of things. Some of us get more stressed out quicker than others depending on how we cope with the events that takes place in our lives. Being stressed can lead to series of health problems in the future. But the question is, “Why so stressed?” What can lead someone to go ‘bananas’ and seem like a crazy person? According to David Sanbonmatsu from the University of Utah, the major causes of people being stressed are financial problems, relationship issues, and having too much on your plate, also known as commitments. At least one of the three major causes is what almost everyone is going through. But what causes people to get so worked up about these major causes of stress?
Most of the time when we turn on our television there is always a commercial about how you can get rid of your financial problems. These commercials are to draw attention to those with financial problem because it is what almost everyone has went through, going through, or will go through. Most people are more at risk of this problem during recession. The loss of jobs, low income, debt, and even going overboard on a credit card are all causes of someone being in a financial crisis. Not only are you dealing with these issues that can lead to stress, but it can take a toll on your friendships, family members, and most importantly your relationship. Financial problems can lead to health problems like hypertension and eating disorders, says experts. According to BusinessNewsDaily staff writer, David Mielach, financial problems can also lead to muscle tension or lower back pain and headaches or migraines.
Not all relationships are walks in the park. Those who are experiencing a relationship can tell you that it isn't always laughs, rainbows, and leaping unicorns. When you are in a relationship you will see that it is a working process and it can be quite stressful. This is why relationship issues are amongst the top reasons why people stress. Before the relationship, you were the only person you had to be responsible for. Once getting into a relationship, you have to put your needs aside sometimes and focus on another human being. Partners don’t always agree and that can in turn lead to arguments that leads to more stress. Not all relationships are equal on both sides. Relationships can lead to fights, loss of communication, and loss of trust. Though it is a minor health problem, relationships can lead to migraines and/or headaches. Relationships can cause you to get depressed.
Being committed to something can lead to a very successful future. On the other hand, commitment can put you in a very stressful situation. A small commitment more than likely won’t hurt you. But overall, commitments takes a lot of focus and dedication. Most importantly, commitment takes patience. If you and patience don’t see eye to eye, you will get stressed out and you will never see success. There are certain things you may want, but it is a working process. Let’s face it, not everyone in the world are go getters. If you are not someone who wants to put in some time and effort for something you want, don’t be shocked when you get stressed out. “When you are ready to commit: do it, be responsible, and be open,” says the healthwise staff.
Stress can take over your life if you let it. The top three major causes of stress are financial problems, relationship issues, and being overly committed to something. Too much stress can lead to health problems such as eating disorders, headaches, and other health problems that can be deadly. So before it ever happens, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and beat stress before it beats you. Sometimes it is advised to talk to someone you can trust to release some of the stress. You can also ask for help from your community and family. Everyone has dealt with at least one of these issues. But if one of these three causes doesn’t affect you and you’re still stressed out, go ahead and ask yourself, “Why so stressed?”

Reflection
I love helping others in real life, so when we had to start doing our cause and effect essay, I was excited. I chose to do my essay on stress. Stress is what I go through, so it just made sense for me to do my essay on this topic. Stress comes from being upset over the smallest of things to the biggest. I even went through a little stress when coming up with what to say for this essay. I was used to looking up information on google, but I had to get out of my comfort zone and do my research on the school's library site. It was so hard to me because it wasn't what I was used to. I would quickly get upset because I felt as if it wasn't giving me the information I needed. But I was wrong. I learned how to type in keywords and shorten my search. I learned to be patient when it came to reading the articles and taking information from what I read. Today is no struggle because I am becoming better when researching. I learned that google and websites with .org, doesn't make it always right. Once I found my information, I was able to get through this essay with ease.
